According to http://www1.salary.com/CA/Los-Angeles/optometrist-salary.html I can count on making $150, 000 each year in my future job as an optometrist. My education/training to get that job will cost $120,000 http://www.testprepreview.com/paying_for_optometryschool.htm.
I want to save $17, 000 for my rainy fund each year and $25, 000 for my retirement each year. By the time I am 65 I will have $650, 000 plus interest.
Comparing my future income and expenses makes me think how hard it is to actually save up money. It takes a lot of good decision making to save up.
Yea, as we get older we are going to really differentiate from wants and needs.
ReplyDeleteit's a lot of the education and training, but I can see that it is worth it.
ReplyDeleteIt takes a lot of work to get what you want but you work hard to save up the money I am sure you can be able to achieve your life goals.
